When Fathers go wrong

“The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children” Romans 8.16

From David King

This year, celebrating Father’s Day, I am more conscious than ever before how important raising our eyes to the fatherhood of God is. It helps the Christian father to know what to aim for and it helps us all to find the only Father who will fulfil all our longings for fatherhood.

I am also aware of how often the experience of earthly fathers can be mixed or even wholly bad, and so I found the following article really helpful: “Honoring your father when he is evil.” I hope that you find it helpful too: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/honoring-father-evil/

We are a friendly Anglican church in the centre of the community of South Wallington. At the heart of our church is the wonderful news that God loves us and has demonstrated that love in the most incredible way through Jesus' life, death and victory over death. Thank you for engaging with our blog, we hope and pray it is a blessing to you.
